Electrical Engineer (NO-IHE-19353)

The Electrical Engineer will work in the Engineering Group providing technical guidance, quality assurance, and compliance related to the Gjøa electrical facilities.  As Electrical Engineer you will implement policies and strategies which ensure cost effective electrical integrity and reliability over the lifecycle of the Gjøa asset. This work will require close cooperation and coordination with other disciplines including maintenance, rotating equipment, instrumentation, inspection, technology & projects and the authorities.

 

 

Main responsibilities

During development

 

·         Follow-up of operating, engineering, and maintenance issues related to the electrical equipment

·         Development of electrical integrity and inspection programs and procedures for the Gjøa facility

·         Establish service contracts for electrical equipment

·         Follow up of non-conformances during commissioning

 

In operation

·         Ensure compliance of electrical equipment in accordance with authority requirements

·         Analyse and improve electrical equipment performance

·         Providing technical support for electrical inspection and maintenance programmes and modification projects

·         Supervision of maintenance of electrical equipment and installation in accordance with applicable technical and safety standards

·         Organize electrical inspection and analyse findings

·         Review and / or conduct power-system studies, including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, transient stability, and harmonic analysis. Prepare power-system models and analyses

·         Coordination of power supply

·         HSE follow-up of activities related to electrical discipline

 

 

 Key competencies

·         Expert knowledge and experience within one or several of the following areas:

     Electrical engineering design and construction

     Electrical operations

     Electrical inspection and maintenance

Experience with subsea power systems is advantageous but not mandatory

·         Expert level knowledge of regulations, relevant codes, standards and practices for assuring the technical integrity of the electrical equipment

·         Ability to step up and take ownership of specific team efforts and to proactively champion technical issues and see them through to completion

·         Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, both written and oral

 

 

Qualification requirements

 

·         5 years of relevant experience

·         Electrical Engineer with master or bachelor degree

·         Experience in electrical engineering design,  operation, maintenance of high and low voltage equipment, regulatory requirements

·         Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills, both written and oral

 

The position reports to Team Leader Automation, Electrical and Telecom.

 

Key interfaces include other Gjøa discipline engineers, operations/maintenance personnel, the Offshore Support Contractor, and the authorities - to ensure the integrity of the electrical equipment related to the Gjøa production facilities.
